NEw Years Goal

Well here we go again. I am one of those people who sit down and with good intentions, make my list of goals that will help me become a better person and will help me progress in life and in the whole Eternal Perspective. Then by March...put the list away and get on with my life, never thinking about those goals again until January 1st rolls around. WELL NOT THIS YEAR!!!

We never know what tomorrow will bring, so i am going at it with a renewed feeling of positive action. I can do it. I just need to continue to see the "whole picture".

So, first thing's first....READ THE BOOK OF MORMON...alone...just me.. and gain an even stronger testimony of the truthfullness of it.

Second: Make my husband my first priority. I have learned what a wonderful man i am married too and would like nothing more than to spend eternity with him. He has taught me what forgiveness, sacrifice, and unconditional love is all about.

Third: Take better care of myself. This has been a constant battle for me, but like anything else it is a work in progress. Eat better (I have been Soda free for a whole year and it really does make a difference in the way I feel) , early to bed, early to rise (this is going to be a toughie), excercise...(more swimming with my grandkids:).........the list goes on

Fourth: Tell my family EVERYDAY how much I love them....and be a better example to each one of them.

So there you have it. Four goals that can change my life and the lives of those who are so important to me. Hopefully these goals will soon become habit and a daily routine.
I love my life but there is always room for improvement....so bring on the New Year...and the New Me!!!

Playing Catch Up

I don't know what I've been doing for the past year that I haven't had time to blog, but I am officially back on task. Crystal is hounding me to either close it out or get on the bandwagon and do some serious blogging. I am a little overwhelmed at where to start, so I thought I would just post a few pics to let you know what's been going on in my life for the past year. I have been enjoying my kids and grandkids for the most part...with some Grandpa time in between. In a nutshell...My life is pretty much the bomb!!!

We held the first ever Johnson family reunion...in my lifetime anyway!
I don't think I have ever seen my Dad enjoy himself so much.
He really loves his family!!!
My cousin Russell.

Mrs. Clause at the Festival of trees.....I got to read Christmas stories to all the little kiddies!
Doesn't get better than this.

I am so blessed to have such talented girls who were willing to work on this project this year!!

The year started out a little crazy with Russell falling off of the roof and not being able to work for 3 months...but all in all I am so blessed to have pretty much the best family in the world.
So blogging world...I am officially back....

'She Aint Ugly....She's my SISTER!!!

This is the first year that Grandma and Grandpa Holm didn't have any kids home for Halloween.
I was actually lost and didn't know quite how to handle it. So like any other normal 50 year old female...I Decided i was going to dress up and go trick or treating. Well mostly tricking!!!
I called my Sister Debbie and asked her if she was up for it...and like any normal 49 year old female...she was.
She came over, we tried everything on that was in the Halloween trunk (plastic garbage can..stored under the stairs, with 32 years of accumulated costumes), and this is what we came up with.

We went and picked up Grannie Annie (she didn't dress up she just went along for the ride) and visited a few relatives and friends. We went to get a pop at KB's and lo and behold the cop shows up and just stands and watches us. I think the clerk called him. Just seemed a little fishy to me.
Still funny....what did they think we were going to do, rob the place? Funny!!!
All in all we tricked a few, got a lot of laughs and had a great time.

I am so blessed to have such an awesome sister that I can laugh with, cry with and love with, and....make a fool out of myself with!!!

It's finished!!!

Yup, you can believe it. It is finally finished. Thanks to Crystal and her painting expertise and painting talents the Garage if officially done. But I don't think I will put my car in it now. I am going to keep the fridge stocked with chocolate and diet coke....and I will switch things up and have a "doghouse" of my own. All I need is a recliner and a selection of good books. I could use a few suggestions.....and ENGLISH TRIFLE is the first on the list. (luv those books written by our own witty, delightful and most of all... talented, Josi Killpack).

No these are not Russell's power tools, but your truly!!!

They have been covered for about 3 yrs..and I am about to unleash the wood working demon in me and get busy.

This would be the Animal Cafeteria.

I might get around to riding my bike again...

but for now enjoy your new clean home my little peddlers.

Hmmmm....wonder how many cars I can park in here now?

Notice the floor...thanks to Crystal I can see my own reflection in it.

So check out my first garage blog and compare it to this one. Amazing results if I do say so myself!!!

A picture's worth a thousand words!

Saturday I was doing dishes when I looked out the window and saw this! I yelled at Russell and Crystal to come and see it. Four miles away I saw what looked like a TORNADO! Notice how clear it looks outside in our backyard. They ran upstairs, looked and Crystal got her camera and got these pics. You decide.....is it a tornado?

Just getting bigger by the second! And heading our way.

SCAAARRRRYYYY!

Coming to our neck of the woods, FAST!

Before the dirt got to our house there was not even the slightest breeze. It was a little eerie. As soon as it hit, the rain and wind came with all it's fury.
We can't see the house across the street from us.

Picture driving into town an hour later. You can barely see.

Tada...A New Post!

O.K, so here's the thing. I have had so many projects going on this year that I haven't found the time or a clear mind to do my blogging. So my apologies to those who have been waiting for something worth reading. Not that this is going to be anything spectacular.........but here goes.

Remember that shed/barn that my hubby built for his stuff, well after about nine months it's almost finished and ready to move his treasures into. And when I say treasures, I mean TREASURES. I have posted a few pictures of our garage to show you what I have had to park in for the last two years. It gives me an anxiety, slash, panic attacks everytime I look at these pics.
It has taken me about 5 weeks so far to sort, clean, throw away (which by the way, was like pulling teeth), or put in a pile to decide later. We did throw away about two truckloads of crap, some of which my hubby salvaged as he found it in the back of the truck. Seriously how many broken shovels can one man have. He found one in the truck and brought it home and fixed it. Because we only have 9 shovels hanging up. Being the frugal man that he is, he also fixed the heated dog dish that didn't work all winter long, that he also found in the garbage.

And seriously, why do men accumulate every used auto part taken from their cars and trucks. We don't even have the vehicles they were taken off of anymore. So check out these before pics of the garage and I will post the new and approved garage in a few days.

Just a note: Crystal has been helping me with the finishing touches and putting her dads tools in his new shed. She asked her dad.. "what goes in the shed"? He replied...if it belongs to your mother it gets to stay in the garage. If it's mine it has to go in the shed. (Whaaa).

So I thought I would let you see all of the wonderful things I have accumulated and get to keep in the garage.
Notice the tiny path to the back door. And if you look hard, you can see half of the freezer.

We have run out of wall space to hang another thing. Darn it!!!

Treasures, treasures, treasures.

This is the tool table. Do you see any tools on it?

I don't know how he finds anything in here.

Oh, that's right.....he doesn't!

He askes me if I know where it is.

I tell him to pretend to throw something over his shoulder, turn around and that is where he will find what he is looking for.

On a more positive note...I have to tell you I have such a handy hubby. He can fix anything from mechanical to construction. And it is because of his many talents that we have a beautiful new shed for storage. And I know that somewhere in the back of his mind, he was doing this for me too. Way Back...but it counts anyway.

Just want to say thank you for all you do for me.
