And yet another Post!

Just wanted to tell you all what an awesome hubby I have. Had a bad night and morning, (girl stuff) soooooo.........When Russell got up, I asked him if he would teach my lesson. He didn't even hesitate. He got ready early and studied until 1 o'clock to teach my adult gospel doctrine class. He constantly amazes me when it comes to the gospel anyway. He came home in such a good mood and excited about how the lesson went. I don't even do that all the time. So a big shout out to my main man Rooster. ( He would kill me if he knew I was going to blog his picture). ssssshhhhhhhhhh............

Happy Birthday to me!

I know! My 39th birthday was in February, but I finally cashed in on my presents, from my kiddies. It was time to clean my room! If it was my kids room they would have been grounded for at least a month. It was disgusting. Anyway, I love the end result. And don't you always feel better when you have done some major house cleaning. You start with one drawer and pretty soon you have done that room and trickled into all the others. Anyway thanks to my kids for the pretty bedroom stuff. ( It was Lynette's subtle way of saying, your bedroom sucks Mom). She was right.

A shed or a Garden?

Russell came up with the idea to build a new shed, because if you have ever seen the three car garage.......we are lucky to park one car in it. Hence, a new shed. It was supposed to be a small one, but again if you know Russell, he doesn't do anything small. He has big dreams and ideas. Anyway, it doesn't look like much now, but it is going to be awesome. It is taller than the house and will have a loft to store things in. It will be a barn shaped structure. I told him we were either going to be planting a garden, or building a shed. I'm so glad he chose the shed. I wasn't ready to be married to another giant garden this year. Besides, no one eats the food that I canned last year except Russell and I. It will last at least 3 years. I'm so lucky to have a guy like Russell who can do just about anything he sets his mind to. A little slow at times, but just the same he is a perfectionist and I appreciate his efforts for our family, but most of all for me.
Luv ya honey!

Maid Service!!!!!

Iwent to Cedar yesterday to get some blinds trimmed and ended up bringing my little Jaybird home with me. We went on a four wheeler ride up to Griffiths spring. Jase was so excited when we saw a little blow snake on the side of the road. Even better when he saw the jack rabbits. He was a lot of fun. When we got home he wanted pancakes, so he made them for us, with a little bit of help. We watched cartoons and had treats.

Anyway while we were in Cedar, Macey Call had come to ask Russell if we had any jobs she could do to earn some money. She called me later and I had her come over today to help out a little. She was so excited. She vacuumed, dusted, did dishes and folded my towels. Then she washed down some of my mop boards. It was great. Jase was feeling a bit left out. He kept saying Gwama, what can I do? So I put him to work. Every time he finished a job, he would say five more things to do grandma! He'll grow out of that in a hurry. Check out my little window washer. Thanks Jase...you are a big helper!

Pools Rule Continued............

Here are a few pics of Russell's and Stephs darling little monsters. The water was cold and they did not want to get out. After we made them, Gauge went around saying fwim, fwim. He was ready to go back. Good Times!. Didn't get a pic of Stephanee, but don't worry, I will next time. We even got Grandpa in the pool, which is a feat in itself. He hates cold water, but like I said......if the kids ask he won't say no. I did do a cannon ball and about washed Emma over the side. Better not try that again!

Where did those two bums come from?

Good times at the Holm house!

Pools Rule! The kids (Lynette family and Russell Jrs.) came home for a couple of days and Jase announced that the pool needed to be put up. Boy, do I wish I was 3 yrs. old. They know how to work the system. Grandpa got right on it and before you knew it, the water was filling up, about 50 degrees freezing, but in a few days it would be up to 72, warm for the Milford flat. We had a lot of fun just putting it up as you will see in the cute pics. This was on Saturday. Lynette and the fam went home for church and came back on Monday. More fun in the sun.
Russell showed up Monday afternoon with the crew. We had so much fun and Russell really helped his dad a ton on the building of the shed. His dad couldn't have done it without him. His dad was really touched. Russell Jr. had to go to Cedar on Tuesday and he came back to help his dad then turned around and drove back to Cedar to stay with Steph at her parents. Two round trips to from Milford to Cedar just to help good old, and I do mean old Dad. I feel so blessed to have kids that love and respect us as their parents. I ask myself everyday what I did to deserve each one of them.

MY NEW TOOTSIES

Happy Mother's Day to me! I finally cashed in on my Mother's Day present...a pedicure. What an experience?! I have a whole new appreciation for people who have to touch feet, especially mine :) I asked the guy if mine were the worst he has ever worked on, but he wouldn't answer. His silence said it all! At one point he said, "Are you ready for this?" After a grinder and some major cutting, my feet were soft as a baby's but. I was worried that they weren't going to stop grinding, even if they saw blood. The results were awesome! My husband even told me to keep my shoes on, so I could preserve my soft heels and beautiful toe nails. We went to the new place next to Alltel in Cedar City. We told the guy we would spread the word...so go visit Signature Nails. They did an awesome job and served up Diet Cokes. What more could a girl ask for?

What's that sound?

Saturday Kendra needed a perscription but couldn't go to Cedar to get it, because she was doing Mallorys' Bridle Pics. So being the awesome Grandma that I am, told her that I would run right over and come right home so we could get the medicine in little Kendra. Sometimes it is nice to ride alone and do a little meditating. It was a quick ride over and I went straight to Wal-Mart. (I know there will be at least 500 trillion Wal-Marts' in hell). I hate that store! It's a love, hate relationship if you know what I mean. Any way I picked up the medicine and a few things and headed for home. My cell phone rings. It is Rachel wanting to chat. I hear a noise and tell her to hang on a minute. Thump-pause-thump-pause.....etc. "Rachel I have to go, I think I have a flat tire." I hang up and pull over in front of the light house up the road from Wal-Mart. Seriously who wants to get out and change a tire on a Saturday a block away from Wal-Mart and a freeway entrance. I was afraid if I opened my door some crazy driver would come by and take it off. Now what. In thirty one years, Russell has never been with me when I have gotten a flat tire.
Who will I call. Lynette and Dustin are in Milford. Lucky them!!!! Roger Smith? Jeremy? Then I remembered that Spencer was in Cedar. I called him and he came in no time to change my tire. I took the car back to that dreaded store and had to buy two tires. Yea, the back two tires on my car were bald. BALD I TELL YOU! I really do know how to change a tire, just not on a busy street like that. I owe Spencer big time....he is such a sweet heart. You can always count on those Whittaker boys. Thank goodness I didn't get it going through the pass. So there was an upside to this fiasco. I hope I can pay it forward to some old lady stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire.
